School History

Haiti Empowered first got involved in the community of Fauchè through a Pastor named Mark. In the beginning our model was to find people who already had an established work, but no support, and partner with them to help provide finances and structure.

In 2006, Haiti Empowered would support another school in Fauchè, Pastor Mark’s home. In that village there was also a lot of delinquency where the children were abandoned on their own. But a few years later Haiti Empowered would buy this land, building a school and starting a church as well, with Jean Roody as school director and pastor of the church.

In 2011, Haiti Empowered aimed to start a 7th-grade class in Fauchè for students who had completed 6th grade in the village, as our school in Léogâne did not have space for high school students. In 2012, we began transporting these students to the high school in Cassange, initially holding afternoon classes in the high school building donated to us after the 2010 earthquake. In 2023, we opened our new two-story high school on the land adjacent to our Cassange school.
